What happens at The Crown of Mary?
The Crown of Mary is a monthly online prayer circle led by spiritual teacher and author Kyle Gray, devoted to honouring Mother Mary and bringing our prayers, intentions, and loved ones into her care.
Each month, people from around the world gather together for prayer, reflection, meditation, and spiritual teaching inspired by the life of Mary and her relationship with Christ.
We pray together. We light candles for the intentions of our community. We reflect on the mysteries of Mary's life. And, through prayer, we ask for her intercession, guidance, and motherly protection.
Throughout the year, we journey through the mysteries of Mary's life, from the Annunciation and her courageous "yes" to God, through her life as the Mother of Christ, her presence at the Cross and at Pentecost, and the Marian traditions that have inspired prayer and pilgrimage for centuries.
These mysteries also offer us an opportunity to reflect on our own lives. In each gathering, we bring forward what we're praying about, the challenges we're facing, or anything weighing heavily on our hearts, and allow the mysteries of Mary's life to offer us a new perspective. Through prayer and contemplation, we create space for clarity, peace, and a deeper awareness of God's guidance in our own lives.
Every gathering is an invitation to know the Blessed Mother more deeply, to contemplate the mysteries of Christ through her life, and to experience what it means to welcome her as a spiritual mother and companion in prayer.
About Mother Mary
Mother Mary, also known as Mary of Nazareth or the Blessed Mother, is the mother of Jesus Christ and is honoured as the Mother of God.
She was the young woman who said yes to becoming the mother of Christ and remained at his side throughout the entirety of his life. From the moment Jesus was born to the moment of the Cross, Mary was there as a disciple, a confidant, and ultimately, his mother.
She was there at the Wedding at Cana, encouraging him to perform his first miracle. She followed his ministry, witnessed his journey, and remained with him even in his final moments.
And even on the Cross, Christ did not think only of himself. He thought of the world.
Looking towards his beloved disciple, he said, “Behold, your mother.”
Those words weren't only for the disciple standing before him. They have echoed through generations as an invitation to receive Mother Mary as our spiritual mother too.
This moment helps us understand why Mother Mary has continued to make herself known throughout history. Through saints, mystics, and apparitions around the world, she continually reminds us of her presence. Perhaps because, generation after generation, the world continues to need a mother.
This is something we explore within The Crown of Mary.
We look to the Gospels and the part Mother Mary played in the life of Christ. We journey through the mysteries of her own life and place them over the mysteries of ours, allowing her story to bring new perspective to the things we are praying about, moving through, or seeking clarity on.
We also explore the wisdom associated with Mother Mary's apparitions, particularly those of Guadalupe, Lourdes, Knock, and Fatima, and what these extraordinary moments can teach us about prayer, faith, healing, and our relationship with God.
The Crown of Mary is an invitation to encounter Mother Mary's story, to learn from the wisdom contained within her life, and to bring that wisdom into our own prayer, knowing that whatever we are walking through, Mary is walking with us.
Who is Kyle Gray?
Kyle Joseph Gray is a spiritual teacher, bestselling author, and lifelong student of the mystical.
For more than 23 years, Kyle has explored spirituality, prayer, meditation, and the unseen world, becoming best known internationally for his teachings on angels. His latest book, Angels Are With You Now, became an instant Sunday Times bestseller, and his books and spiritual tools have now reached more than one million people around the world.
Kyle's spiritual journey began at just four years old, when the soul of his grandmother appeared to him on the night she passed away. That experience opened the door to a lifelong relationship with prayer and the mystical. In his teens, he experienced his first vision of an angel and began studying different forms of spirituality, contemplation, and meditation.
But at the heart of Kyle's spiritual life has always been a relationship with Christ.
Following the loss of his mum, that relationship deepened in an unexpected way when Kyle experienced a powerful dream of Mother Mary. This encounter led him into a deeper relationship with the Blessed Mother and ultimately towards receiving the Catholic sacraments of Communion and Confirmation.
Kyle's work is all-encompassing and approachable. He has a gift for taking spiritual and mystical ideas that can sometimes feel complex or out of reach and making them accessible to everyday life, welcoming people from all backgrounds and wherever they may be on their spiritual journey.
Alongside his work as a spiritual teacher, Kyle is currently studying for a BA in Ministry at St Augustine's College, expanding his understanding of scripture and theology while continuing to explore how ancient spiritual wisdom can speak to the world we live in today.
Kyle believes that faith isn't something static. It should grow with us, challenge us, deepen with experience, and continually invite us into a closer relationship with God.
The Crown of Mary grew from this journey: from Kyle's love of the Blessed Mother, his relationship with Christ, and his desire to create a space where people from all backgrounds can encounter the mysteries and deepen their own prayer.
